I'm not usually one to try them, but my boss picked up a case of Michelob Winter Bourbon Cask Ale for me for Christmas. I have to admit, this isn't too bad. And thats coming from a guy that hates AB products.
I had a Schlafly's Coffee Stout the other day at the family winery and thought it was pretty delicious. I'll probably try their other Christmas time beers here in the next week or two including Christmas Ale and Winter ESB. Have you ever tried any of the Schlafly line of beers with them being brewed in St. Louis BBM?
I think christmas is my favorite time of year based solely on beers available now. Have a Troeggs "Mad Elf". Great stuff there.
Leinenkugel's Fireside Nut Brown is AWESOME... Dundee Festive Ale is also quite tasty..... The Michelob Winter Bourbon Cask Ale was decent as well, but a little heavy on the vanilla flavor for my liking. I also like Sam Adam's Winter Ale......:thumb: In the overall realm, I LIKE BEER!!!
I usually stick with my Leinie's Fireside Nut Brown or some Sam Adams Winter Ale. Although I'll pick up a few variants from time to time those seem to be my winter staples.
I tried Shiner seasonal ale the other day....simply awesome. Now my beer store is out and don't know when they will get more.....
Here are a few others I like & would reccommend Great Lakes Christmas Ale (as mentioned above) Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale Corsindonk Christmas Ale Anderson Valley Winter Solstice Penn Brewery St Nick Bock (This beer is outstanding this year) And if you can pick up a Sam Adams winter mix, there are several good beers in there including a Holiday Porter, Old Fezziwig and a Chocolate Bock. A white ale for you wheat beer guys and of course the winter ale.
love that sketch!!!! but i'll stick with my Summit Winter Ale (best thing to come outta St. Paul since Dave Winfield), kinda tough to get here in IL but well worth it!
Second that...the sixer of this went quickly. Got something from Sierra Nevada - red label on the bottle, forget the name...nasty.
I had a Great Lakes when I was in Ohio over the summer. Good stuff for sure. I can't get into the Leinie's. Tried a couple of different flavors, not for me.
Scored a sixer at Wegmans tonight, they only had two...gonna chill it for Christmas Eve, pre wrapping mind lubricant.
I almost bought the big bottle...got a 4 pack instead...10%...deyamn. See how two of these make me sleep. Not a bad beer so far, hard hitter, thanks for the suggestion! Great thread so far.
