we’ll some of you recall I had a stand fail and I fell 17’ to the ground. The fall was October 14 a little over a month has passed by and the heel is still secured with hardware. I’m hoping they will fit my next surgery in next week. I’m ready to get these rods out of my foot so I can sleep in my bed again.
Damn, been a long road for you for sure! Glad to hear all is still going good, and glad you updated us! Hang in there!
Hope you get well soon. I remember my external fixator and how glad I was to get it off. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Got some good news today. They are removing my rods this Friday early AM. He will place it in a splint for a week then have x-rays done. After the x-rays shows everything is still in place he will put me in a boot. after another week of no weight bearing I will finally be asked to walk. my pain levels will determine if I can continue to walk or if I'll need more rest. They tell me that the broken bones are fused together, but that my Heel is still soft, so it would be painful and could "Dent" if i tried putting weight on it too early. I think that perhaps the most difficult part of this whole ordeal will be getting rid of the extra pound I've acquired. bed rest has been cruel to my belly.
That's great....but only a pound. I would be up like 5 by now watching all the BHOD episodes and other hunting shows.
Thats great news man! I am glad to hear the bone fused well, You will up and running in no time at all!
Thanks for the update. I was actually thinking about you and your story yesterday when climbing into my stand. Hang in there.
The surgery went well. I feel like a million bucks. I can't believe how much of a difference it would make by simply removing the exterior fixaters. I mean I feel like a completely different person. I actually gained over 15#'s. I need to shed that before i fit into any of my normal cloth. lol.
