Nice fish!! Not much more enjoyable than a day on the water with a few coors lights.

Ice fishing is becoming one of my most liked hobbies (getting up there close to hunting).

4.5 more inches of rain last night... There is no way I'm accessing the public land swamp anytime soon now. We have to be close to 8-10 inches for the month of August.

Holy rain!! How far are you from like the Red Wing area? The #1 on the hit list this summer is keeping around can't wait to try and make a move once season opens. What do you guys think on age? I'm thinking probably 5 at least? Just seems real long, big belly and brisket. Compared to the second picture, this guy will hopefully stick around for the next couple years, got great potential! 2016 YOUNG BUCK.jpg Figured this would keep the forum active!! 2016 OLD TEN.jpg

Yeah, when the neck hides the brisket, it's mature enough! Good luck!

Guys - one of my "sidelines" is doing research on bowhunter efficacy. Fyi, I posted a data update to a research paper I wrote on fixed/mechanical broadheads in the Tech Talk forum.

I've been on a land/home search for 5 years. Looked at many of properties - signed on a 3 acre parcel of land with this home today.

Home is surrounded by 12 acres that I negotiated first right of refusal and think I will eventually gain hunting access - not sure for this year or not?! Hopefully but really wasn't a deal breaker for me. This buck was found dead in the yard of the neighboring property last year after being hit by a car.

Which we had many photos of on our lease down the road. Close at the end of October so hopefully it doesn't cut into my season too much.

Congrats on the house! It's beautiful!

I've been practicing with my Slick Tricks the last week or so... Thinking of making the switch to mechanicals.

Looking at the Nap Killzone or the Rage chisel tip 2 blades. Any other suggestions?

I shot Rage 2 blades (coc) for a few years and never had a single problem with them. But.. four years ago, I buddy of mine gave me two new packs of the Rage 3 blades. After seeing what they did to deer, I've used them religiously and will continue until I'm done hunting or Rage stops making them. They are devastating.

My opinion on the Killzones isn't good. It requires way too much force to open the blades and you hear/see a lot of penetration issues. Rage is the best pick IMO. The Hypodermic is a good head. I've shot the 2.3" Extreme for 3 years now and if I were to try anything else it might be the Spitfire XXX but hate to lose the big entry hole
