So, I was assembling my Thunderheads and mounting them on my Carbons. Just getting ready for some practice tomorrow. I made a mistake. I put the lock ring in upside down, but didn't notice it until I had put it on. I noticed because when I tightened it, it would just spin, not tighten. I noticed my mistake, so I tried taking it off. No dice. Same thing as the other direction. So now I have carbon and thunderhead sitting uselessly. Anyone help?

Do you have any pics? I shot thunderheads with carbons for years and never saw this before?

I just tried it with one of my thunderheads and it would tighten right up with the ring turned around and screwed back out. Will they screw into your arrow if the ring is turned right? Got any pics?

It sounds to me like the insert is spinning inside the arrow. I can't imagine any other scenario where the broadhead would just spin without getting tight and correspondingly not back out. Any chance that's what's happening?

Also, if you're using the original Thunderheads with small diameter carbon arrows (Easton Axis, CX Piledrive Pass Thru, etc.) you need the UBAR adapter ring to make them work properly.

You can't get the BH off the arrow or ring off BH?

They are attached with the same exact parts in the same order. The top one ate my O-ring.

Hold the insert with a vise or vise grip. Then back the broadhead out by unscrewing with pliers

Thank you so very much. Just saved me a thunderhead. Stripped the crap out of my arrow, but better then throwing away the entire setup.
