I used them my first year of bow hunting and have switched over to the sticks. First when it's icey they are really slick I slipped alot in bad weather not totally falling but some close calls. Two when I hunt on public land, which you don't have to worry about, other hunters will take out the first 4 or 5 steps so you can't get up the tree. Which is a horrible situation to be in at 5 am.
