Hey guys, I live 2 hours away from the land I turkey hunt on so I do not have a ton of time to scout and put the birds to bed and get up with them. I have two cameras a MP6 and a Red 40 (on the way, Thanks to Tom's great deal he has going). I may also put a third camera out if I feel it is needed. I want to put one camera where the logging road comes out to the field in yellow on the west side of the field. This is where most of the turkey come out to the field and I will most likely be sitting depending on where the birds are. I also want to put one camera on the east side because this is the highest part of the fields and turkeys usually like to hang out in that area as well. I may put one other camera on the north west corner because in years past the turkeys have gone to that corner as well. But I may put a camera on the south side which is higher up on a timer so I can get a broader range of the field. The field itself slopes gradually towards the creek on the north side with the highest part in the the southeast. What I am asking I am looking for suggestions on putting cameras on timers. How often should I have the pictures taken? I do not plan on checking these for three weeks. How far can the cameras reach. Will they do what I want as far as watching over the field. I am not to worried about seeing exactly what the bird is I just want to know that the birds are in that area and time. Normally there will be a beard in the mix of birds. What settings would you use on the cameras to get the best results I want? I am going to be setting up one camera for sure this weekend maybe two but I don't think my red 40 will make it in time. I don't remember what was planted on the field this past year so I hope I just see some tracks or I will have to move to plan B Thanks, Nate
I like the plot watcher pro for turkeys. I see exactly where they like to come out and how long they spend in a certain area.
