Come September I'm heading out to Colorado for an Elk hunt. I thought It would be a good idea to scout the area. I talked my wife into going out there and doing some hiking. It started off great nice sunny day to get some scouting, Whoops I mean hiking in. Then the rain came. It rained all night and into the morning. According to the forecast it was going to rain all day. I decided to pack up and leave it took me 3 1/2 hours to drive 10 miles in the grease also known as mud We madde out out in 1 peice.

This is the view on the way up.

Nothing like the view of snowy mountain tops to recharge the batteries.

Keep us posted on your hunt...and Good Luck! (bowhunt I assume?)

Absolutely beautiful pictures. I hope you don't have to tackle too much of those mountains to get a good shot... man they were steep!

The best place to hunt is at the top. it takes about an hour to hike up there and yes it is steep.

This is the place. 75% of my elk hunting career has been spent on this ridge.
