So I have hunted the same piece of property my entire life and using a few well placed trail cameras helps me determine what trails they are using and I don’t normally have to scout much beyond that. So to say the least i am a bit out of practice.

I was drawn to do a quota hunt at a local state park in December and I need to go scouting because I was drawn for the second weekend and I have a feeling the deer will be a bit spooky. I have already killed my buck for the state of Kentucky this year so I’m hunting for does.

Here is my issue... I am not sure where to start. The whole place is pretty hilly and I’m sure the spots I immediately think of to hunt will be hunted out the weekend before. What kinda areas should I key in on? Below is a pic they gave me when I was drawn but the google maps version is a bit better because the trees are bare.

Oh and I forgot I have 2 weeks to scout before they close the park and I can no longer access it until my hunt

I would try to find bedding areas and locate trails going in/out with the freshest tracks you can find up to the last day you can scout. Find as many as possible in case others beat you to the spot. Food sources will be good too. Don't know if you get much snow there but if you do, the tracks will assist in finding trails. Good luck.
