the beauty of having my food plot about 200 yards from my house is that i can check it nightly from my back porch. A few nights ago i saw what i would consider a decent looking doe in the middle of the field. just a little while ago i took a gander and to my surprise there are 3 deer. 2 that i believe to be bucks, one probably at least 6 points and still looks like he has some growing to do, and 1 doe.
What are the chances these deer will still be around when the season opens?

IMO it all depends on when the preferred food source becomes available and where it is. On one of our properties you can see a very large bachelor group all summer, but about 2 weeks before season they dissapear to the better food down the road. We have another area that you never see many deer until the acorns fall, and then they show up out of no where.

Michael is correct. We saw so many bucks during the summer at a new property. The aliens abducted them around Sept. 14 (the last trail cam proof they were there). Our season starts Sept. 15 :(

well hopefully the corn and soybeans will be enough to hold them here for a while. also a ton of corn fields around though so things could get interesting.
