It doesn't matter what side you are on, if you question my debate I will defend it. And you are all over the place. I have no clue what not allowing 2 cousins having a baby together, or smoking, have to do with gay marriage. But I stand by what I said. Its not about feelings, its about fact. 2 cousins have a high change of making a child with issues. Its not fair to the child, who had no choice in the matter. 2 gay people can not make a baby with birth defects obviously, so you can not compare the 2 relationships. And to then throw a 3rd debate in it, smoking and drinking, is just taking this farther off topic. It makes no sense to even go there. I guess I can see it being used to making a comparison, but would be for the 2 cousin debate, not same sex debate. So it was a waste of both of our time. And proved nothing, because my stance remains the same. They are unhealthy actions that negatively effect the people around the user, and has more of a reason being banned then same sex or cousin marriages.
John, I think what you are missing is we all have limits of what we are willing to accept in society. You obviously, as a lot of people, are opposed to incestuous marriage. to you and many others, including myself, that is distorting marriage in a way in which you are not comfortable with and are opposed to. That is where you draw the line. I, and many others, draw the line at homosexual marriage. Some people are opposed to bigamy, that is there line in the sand. I personally have never made it a religious debate, because in all honesty I am not the most religious person and that would be hypocritical of me. By the way, how is that new boat?
I can understand being uncomfortable with it completely brother. I don't like the thought either lol. But at the end of the day, why is that any of our business? And why should we withhold rights because we find it gross? That doesn't make any sense to me. It doesn't effect us. We go home to our wife or girlfriend and they go to theirs. They are humans like you and me, and deserve the same rights. And the boat is great thank you! Still don't know how I got so lucky.
It does effect some of us. I had to standby while the rainbow mafia attacked my father, tried to have his social workers license revoked, made his life hell to the point where he retired because the harassment was so bad. I remember just a few years ago him saying how he would never retire because he loved his job so much. All because he stood up for traditional marriage. My father was a social worker for over 40 years, working with at risk teens the whole time. He worked in neighborhoods where the people who were out to get him would never dare drive thru, never mind work. It was sickening. The ones who preach tolerance have the least tolerance, and for that you can bet I will always carry some bitterness.
Irrational, hateful people are just that. Irrational, hateful people. I don't know about you, but I choose not to judge or discriminate against an entire demographic based off the irrational minority of that demographic.
Its horrible how they did that and I do not agree with them at all in that case. But, he chose to take that risk. Sadly thats the way people are these days. But that's not same sex marriage effect him. At the end of the day his choice to turn them down did. That was caused by his action. Personally, I think they were wrong. People need to learn to suck it up and move on if someone doesn't want to serve you. I have no problem not going to stores or places that don't want me there. They should have done the same. America is to weak these day, and its become more normal to cry like a baby (straight or gay) then just man up and move to the next store.
Many people who are seeking to condone the sinful lifestyle of homosexuality are saying, "God is love." That is a correct statement. He loves people so much he wants to let them know when they are living in a way that is unacceptable to him so he does not have to destroy them. Someone who remains in that lifestyle will not inherit the kingdom of God. God's love is Christians letting homosexuals know that they must repent and turn to God so that they would not be destroyed. So you see, we are not judging the homosexual, but trying to keep them from judgement. When we sin, we repent. Just as we wouldn't embrace our failures, nor can we embrace others sinful actions. Remember, homosexuality is sin not because I say so but because God says so. We spread the word of God, we don't get to be the judge of his court he is the only and almighty judge alone.
Why don't most of you all focus on your sinning ways instead of targeting gay folks? Like you are the judges of the world.....give me a break.
Again I'm not judging that's not my right or job, I'm just saying what I believe and if anyone continues to not to believe what I'm saying at lease I spoke what I believe is true and did what Gods told me to. The rest is up to the people who hear it and God be the judge.
So glad I don't live that lifestyle. I will never understand how you or anyone else could. The thought of running around pointing out others sin makes me sick. If someone is not breaking the law or hurting other people, I don't see why its any of anyone elses business. And I know the last thing I want is someone trying to tell me how to live my life, so I can not imagine how the gay community gets through a day with groups of people like you around. Nothing personal, you are not the only one at all. It saddens me to no end, and I am so glad I am lucky enough to not have any religious beliefs. After reading this thread, its so freeing to just love my fellow man kind without a list of dos and donts to look out for and spread to others.
Now polygamists are coming out demanding legal marriage. Pretty soon the rest of the perverts will be demanding bestiality, incest, sodomy and whatever else, be allowed legally. Consenting adults argument won't hold the seawall. You also can't legislate morality, a society that's sick enough on a fundamental level to not stop perversion through whatever means necessary...has no hope of being saved by any arbitrary laws to prevent it anyway.
