What's obvious is their actions affect people, how you're ignorant to that fact is disturbing. Ever heard of dominos? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I guess that's where we disagree, and probably always will. I believe that this will negatively affect our country as a whole where as you don't. That's fine it's our own opinions. I think it will destroy the nuclear family, morals of our country, and the future of marriage. I believe divorce rates will go up. I don't think it will benefit our country. I think these things will take time to come true but I think it will someday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My gay neighbor getting married affects me how? Or are you going to continue to use the fact that some unreasonable gay couple in California might try to sue a church or a business as a way to discriminate against an entire demographic? Again...the silent majority should not be punished because of a vocal minority.
I don't think punished is the correct word, but the reason I stated early about how I believe gay marriage will negatively affect our country. Which I understand is probably not your opinion and that's fine, but those are the reason I am against it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
well...I don't know how allowing 2 people that love each other the ability to get married could ever be a bad thing, but hey, maybe I'm too much of an optimist
I won't call you an optimist but in theory no it wouldn't be a bad thing, but in practice I think it will help destroy the nuclear family, increase divorce rates amongst all types of marriage, cause more broken families, and not to mention the lawsuits against discrimination that will unavoidably follow this ruling. This last reason I know is just the bad apples that every demographic has but it will probably be the one that causes the biggest fire Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I started to try and pick back up from where I left off a few days ago on this thread and read whats been said, and once again religious people depress me. I had to just give up, its nothing but the same crap. Why does your religion have to effect others with different beliefs? Separation of church and state is suppose to be how our voting takes place. Just because you believe its against your gods plans or wants, doesn't mean 2 people in love should not be able to be happy. And honestly, would you want your daughters end up marrying a gay guy trying to keep it in because a bunch of sad ignorant people make him feel like he can not be himself? Your poor daughter is only going to suffer in the long run Its sick! I wouldn't want to have the same happen to me, marry a gay women because she is trying to fit into your "normal". Why wouldn't you just be happy that others are happy? Is your life really that sad? Is your god really that sad? Makes me sick if so, I pray he is not real if that's the kind of "man" he is!
I believe that 2 loving parents and a stable environment are more important that the tradition "mom and dad" nuclear family. Divorce rates increasing...eh...gays still only make up like 3% of the population, so say they all get married and 50% get divorced, then that would still only increase the divorce rate by a very small percentage. And lawsuits, which I agree, they will come are a thing to worry about. And I will say that I am 100% with private business owners being able to discriminate and deny service to someone that they do not want to provide services. I am 100% pro private business discrimination. I am 100% against governmental discrimination.
I'm all for civil unions, I just am against calling it marriage since marriage comes from God, that means a lot to me I don't take marriage lightly and I don't want to see it be redefined by government. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We agree on that last part. I however think gay marriage will cause more divorces in nuclear families and as sad is it is if a truly gay person married and starts a traditional family, they made a commitment. It sucks but I don't believe in divorce especially for that reason. I make some exceptions but not because your feelings changed. It's a huge problem in our country and seriously effects children in that situation. I agree there is nothing wrong with 2 stable people. I think it is better that it is a man and a woman if you couldn't have guessed  but if it is a stable gay couple so be it I have no problem with that. Unfortunately that is the ideal case which doesn't happen every time. I think it will just have a negative effect on all marriages Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Going by my quick research, marriage dates back to 1790 BC, way before Christianity. Never the less, we can argue something dumb like the name of it, but at the end of the day that's not the point. Call it what you want, 2 people should be able to, regardless of others religious beliefs. Why should they have less opportunity just because some guy said some voice said its wrong? Let them be happy. And if a baker doesn't want to make a gay couple a cake because of his religion, then hes a dope and deserves to lose the business from that couple and whoever they inform. I do believe a business should be able to turn down business if they chose, that's their choice. But I will laugh as their competitor takes that money to the bank. What a dumb reason to turn down business. Just be happy people.
Using your logic, how would you respond to Fletch's question a couple pages back (posted below)? While this is healthy debate and I respect your decision to be a non-believer, I do take offense when you refer to My Savior as bolded in your comments above. Not that it matters to you, but I believe HE died for ALL of us, even those who mock him as you have. "So, can a man now marry his daughter? Or, a mother marry her son? If not, is that discrimination? If so, why? If not, why? It would seem to be unnatural, but if they love each other is it unfair to call that incest and deny them the right to marry?"

Because that is unnatural? Who are we to judge? -so sayeth 5 SC judges. And Hooker.
Are those supporting this also saying it's "natural" or of the norm for any species to be attracted to the same sex? I'm just curious? If so, then why have the difference in reproductive organs?
1790 BC may be before modern Christianity, but not before God instituted marriage. The bible places Adam and ever somewhere around 4000 BC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To answer the question first, sure, given the fact that they are not able to have kids. Science has proven incest is unhealthy and cruel. But if they are fixed, who cares really? If they are causing no harm, who cares? I think its sick, but that's because Im not into that. But if my neighbor is, who is it my business? And do your offense, I don't care! I don't care you are offended. Get over yourself, people get offended every day. Cry about it or move on, but I wont wipe your tears. That's whats wrong with America. Not gay marriage. People get offended by EVERYTHING! Some get offended by a fart. A FART! A natural human body function that many cant even hold back. But do it in the wrong place or time or around the wrong person and you are bad in there eyes. Im sorry but Im not sorry. You said you believe he died for all of us, and its only that, a belief. No one can prove it with science. No one can prove it happened. Can prove he died Im sure, I would hope his existence has been proven (Jesus), but can not prove what he was saying is true. Or what his mom said is true. You can believe what you want, but understand someone is going to be offended. Want to know what offends me? People who are so miserable they cant just be happy for other people being happy. But, I don't expect an apology, and I wont cry about many on here offending me, because I am a big boy (most of the time) and understand that's life and itll happen again down the road as well.
Prove it, without the bible. I can say a monkey named Sam made up marriage. I can prove it just as much as you can.
