Just got one...do they ALL have a freaking hair trigger?

I mean this is a "get close to it and it releases" release.

    Normal?

To my knowledge, all releases have the same trigger tension. The tension increases, when it is on the bowstring and at full draw, because a release is supposed to fire unexpectedly during the squeeze. I have had many, but favor my Scotts Little goose.

I believe they are adjustable on the trigger tension.

All the scott releases i've used are adjustable...small allen screw at bottom of trigger. Read your directions, should tell you about adjusting it.

none with it - package didn't have any

I e-mailed their customer support, said it will load up on draw ( have not shot it yet) and I had figured the small allen would be the key...but its SMALL...have to dig around to find one that tiny

    Thanks for the responses!

You can adjust it, but if you get it out of whack, it will be a pain to set it back where it is. Tension is different when it is not attatched to the bowstring/string loop, at full draw. I highly recommend shooting it before you try adjusting it. Any good release has the same hair trigger when not in tention/loaded up, at full draw.

If you're shooting it properly... with back tension -- you'll probably want close to a hair trigger. Once you lay your finger on it, you'll be surprised at how much squeezing of the shoulder muscles it takes to fire it.
