    My thoughts are if you would set the skull on a table against a wall or something snd use a framing square you could project the inside of the spike out to where you could measure to the other beam.

    A laser level set correctly could get you a line to measure also

    Lmao thank you all! I actually did understand more than I thought. My simple brain was just having a hard time calling a spike anything more then just that. I also just wanted to have an explanation to how I came up with the numbers, when I post my score. I wish you guys the best of luck this season.

    I was one of the people that goofed up a rack measurement in the past, complete accident.
    I skipped last years contest because I felt like a fool.
    I think I will sign up this year but might put it out there to my team, if anyone is good at it if I shoot a buck if they'd video call or something to make sure I don't screw it up. I hate being that guy, its embarrassing and hurts the team.

    Yeh dude, sign up. Honest mistakes are just that. At least you didn't announce you killed a buck, never score it and ghost your whole team for the remainder of the season.

    Hell I goofed my score in 2019 on my big buck. I was PMed and the fellow hunter politely let me know I missed a measurement. I was pissed at myself for making a mistake. Always take it as a learning experience. That how we get better and definitely sign up.

    I forgot the H4 measurements on the first buck I entered in the contest, someone kindly Pm'ed me a reminder. Mistakes happen, don't let that pressure ruin the experience. Own it, fix it and move to the next one.

    Well, with 60+ sits a year and no P & Y, you are either world's best napper in the woods or sitting in the wrong spots. Something's broke, so FIX it. :lol:
