As many of us veterans know it happens every year; honest mistakes in scoring of bucks taken in the contest. It is usually just good ole fashion ignorance having never had to do it before or very rarely. Over the years a few threads have been created that could be of valuable assistance should you be blessed with the need to score a buck this year and a video which if you can get past the person in it - it does a great job as well of showing how to score your deer: A Whitetail Scoring How To (Tutorial) Scoring Your Buck...Must Read Please Lot of good stuff in those threads and excellent discussions for anyone new or needs a refresher to scoring. Don't hesitate to ask your captain, team, this thread or anyone on the forum that has experience - place is full of BS'ers sure but if you ask a genuine question this place will most definitely assist you. No one will ever give you crap for asking about scoring, but trust me you may flirt with a ton should you post a score that is clearly void of accuracy. In the end the score doesn't mean jack squat anyways - he was big enough for your goals and objectives and made your hunt awesome. Adding a 1/2 inch here or there for a contest that is free to join and void of some massive prize package isn't worth it anyways. I hope every single contestant has the issue of having to score a buck this year, God bless and GOOD LUCK!!!
