Score on day one! Didn't get to go out this morning, opening day, went to a St. Louis Cardinals game last night and didn't get back home and in bed til about 2:30-3am. Got out this afternoon and in my stand at about 3pm. Things were real quiet til about 5:30. I had a doe working her way to me, stepped through my shooting lane at 20 yards, but she was quartered-towards so I elected not to shoot. She kept on going the same direction and she stopped again at about 15 yards, quartered away this time. I LET HER RIP!!! She blew up and stormed off, I knew the hit was good. I gave her 30 minutes, got down, went and found my arrow and got a little worried- there wasn't hardly any blood on the arrow. I followed the trail of ruffled up leaves for 20 yards or so before I found any blood. Once I found it I followed finger-nail sized bits of blood for 50-60 yards. I wasn't happy! I knew I hit her better than that! I kept following it and slowly but surely the blood trail started getting a little heavier. Kept following and kept following, looked up, and there she lay!! She went 100 yards or so I'm guessing, she meandered quite a bit through the woods. I taped off her eye-snout at a little over 160mm. Didn't carry my bow the entire way while I was trailing her: And the pictures for the contest: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b293/englum_06/Picture094.jpg[/IMG [IMG]http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b293/englum_06/Picture095.jpg
