I have been curious for some time about this. This is the buck my dad killed last year. I was overseas when he killed it and its been at the taxidermy since then. I was wondering what he would score. Some guy gave my dad an estimate while he was dropping it off but he just eyeballed it. And the score he said seemed low to me. Anyhow Im not the greatest at scoring pictures so I figured I would ask for you guys' help.
Right around 132 gross, very nice mainbeams, 16" inside spread, nice tines. Do you have a side view or no?
nice buck looks like mine i killed last year (mines a lil smaller ...) good looking deer congrats to your dad
Nice buck. Probably in the mid 140s I noticed your avatar. My best friend Josh is an MP here in Michigan
I love the shape of that rack. The brows are gonna hurt the score, I would put him in the high 130s range. I'd stick him if given the chance.
im gonna say 134" but if he had grown some decent brows he has the frame to support a high 140" rack.
That's a heck of a main frame 8 point! Looks as though he's lacking mass maybe. Mid to high 140's possibly.
Thanks guys. thats what i was getting was low to mid 140's. And yeah unfortunately that is a shot in the nose. Apparently as soon as my dad squeezed off the trigger the buck reach around and starting biting his leg. So the round passed through the back of the head through the nose and the through both lungs. My dad was sick because he missed that same buck during bow season shooting right over his back. He was only helping my mom in gun season but she had tagged out and they were waiting and he had his buck tag left, so he said he wasnt going to let him pass. Would have been so much better taken with a bow, but still a trophy all together. He has been lucky taking 3 excellent bucks over the pass three years. lowest one scored in the low 130's.
