This is a deer that my dad got on camera a couple of weeks ago. I know what my guess is but my number keys aren't all working because I drooled on the keyboard. Anyway, let's hear your guesses.
He'll gross score around 190, maybe even 200. Like Christine said, he's looking damn gnarly. Is it possible for you to hunt him next year? You going after the sheds? Name him yet? Details Dubbs! DETAILS!
Wow you weren't kidding when you said stud. He does look a little rough around the edges though. I'd guess somewhere in the upper 180's You need to find those sheds
The lighting makes it tough to decipher, but I came up w/ 171 TWICE when punching numbers in, and that's giving him 22" spread (not 100% sure on that, and 22" beams (again not 100% sure on that), and I gave him 35" in mass which may be a touch high, but that Left base is HUGE. Good luck finding those sheds!!!
Too bad his left side Is so much smaller. If both sides were equal I'd say he easily goes 180"+. Being their not I'll say 170" max.
You're correct Christine, he may not make the prettiest mount... well cape wise. They're in the beginning stages of losing their winter coats down here right now... I wouldn't have thought that a month ago. Caleb, I may be able to hunt this deer, it's still kind of up in the air. This is actually a place that my dad hunts, so we'll see. I haven't named him yet, the lightbulb hasn't lit up like I had hoped... As for sheds, yes I'd love to find his sheds.
Great looking buck. He is a total stud. I'd guess in the mid 170's. Hopefully you or your dad will get him next year to put a tape to him. He's definitely having a bad hair day.
I agree with Steve here. I don't think he goes 180" but he's real nice. He does look like he was on a three day bender. Maybe you could name him "Scrufty"? :D
Just to play the devils advocate here, I'm saying he's not losing a whole lot on the left side (a little yes). I see this... Same brows, similar split G2's, same long G3's, lose a little on the G4, lose a little on the G5. The main beams are pretty close and the mass is as well...
I really dont care what the cape looks like that can be fixed. Those antlers are awesome. Where is this deer located, I would like to find a lease near that.
well I am in Louisiana and I have a lease in Missouri and now I am already looking for one in Texas LOL
