Ok, so I was diagnosed with black rifle disease a few years ago and I've been good for the past year, but, I need a scope. I am happy with the rest of my setup but I need a scope dangit! I like the EOTechs but they are way too expensive for me right now. I am looking for something similar to either an EOTech or the Bushnell AR Optics 1 x MP but I have seen a few bad reviews on the battery compartment coming loose and the scope not being parallax corrected. I also don't know if I want a little magnification or not. Does anyone have a scope that they really like or recommend within the $150 range? The look matters too, I like black matte and I'd like it to look like either an EOTech or the ACOG "style".

I looked into the nikon p-223 series of scopes a lot awhile back. The one is jus a set magnification, which I cant remember and don't want to say wrong, and think it goes for around 150 and the other is 3-9x that goes for sround 200. They're both made for ar's and the reticle is set for .223/5.56. Redfield which is made by Leopold also has a good scope for the ar platform and I'm not real sure on the details of that scope but my friend has one and its a good scope and probably has quality has some that are more expensive. Not sure of price on it but I'm guessing its not much seeing as a lot of their products are pretty resonable.

I have the Redfield Battlezone, which is their AR scope. It's a 3X9X42. It's a good scope w. good optics. I wish I had more magnification, and you have to be careful with the elevation turrets. Mine got moved on me just by carrying the gun and cost me a boar while I was hog hunting. The gun was sighted at 100 yards dead on, and I shot right over the hog. Later I got to looking at the scope and noticed that the turret had been turned to 340 yards. Other that, which is chalked up to operator error, I really like the scope. Just wish they made it in 4X12 or 6X18.

Thanks guys, that gives me a few ideas. I think I want a tactical scope, 6 inches or shorter but I might opt for the magnification so we'll see.

My buddy Mark loves the Vortex like Lastoneout posted, you can pick them up for $150.00. I recently bought a 1-3X small scope with black/Green Lighted/Red Lighted recticle site that I am digging for the $150.00 price tag.

Hmmm, I'm digging that scope and it's got some magnification too. I might look into that.

    Is that an EOTech?

I have an Aimpoint on my .223. It is fantastic, really rugged and easy to shoot. I plan to add a magnifier to it one of these days.

I'm building a 300blk. I plan to put a fixed 4x on top of it. I'll probably wind up with a Leupold. I do not want a variable power, it will be used at night more than anything.

My buddy just bought a neat 2x Bushnell for his.
