After 2 years of struggling with my bow, I've finally almost got it where I want it. The last piece is to add a scope. Being 51, I can see decent at 20 yards, but beyond that, it gets a little squirelly.

Since I have a Pruf scope, I ordered their 4x scope, which, from what I understand, offers about 1.75x magnification. It also comes with a bit of a warning that you may need to add a peep verifier.

My question is why would you add a verifier? I thought the whole point in archery is to have focus on the target and have the pin be a "blur" over the target. Does adding a scope throw this relationship out of balance so much that you have to get both of them clear?

Generally, a clarifier is used in conjunction with a sight scope to clean up (and magnify) the target. A verifier is used without a sight scope in most cases and it is to clean up the pin. But I have read of people using a verifier with a scope and having it work for their eyes. It really comes down to what works best for your eyes.
But mainly a clarifier is used with a scope to clean up the target.
Just wanted to point out clarifier and verifier, it's odd that your paperwork is referring to a verifier rather than a clarifier.
