My wife just asked me a question I quickly answered with an, "Of course it is." She asked me if the Scentlok gear I just opened up from Bass Pro was really worth the small fortune it costs. I think it at least boosts my confidence during those early season, high temperature hunts where I'm trying not to sweat my facepaint off. The science seems to be there with the carbon and all, but if we're all honest, is it really worth the extra financial investment?
fletch920, what would be the best thing to do in the early season with warmer temperatures? I mean, what do you do? I am curious what everyone else does too. In order to control sweat and odor. I do have to agree with you on the 'scentlok' being a waste of time and money.
just simply scout, know where they are going to go, and play the wind. I work all day, and then hunt the evenings in october. I dont change clothes, just put on camo coveralls and boots right over my work clothes and go at it. stay down wind, and you will be ok. if the wind is not right, then dont go, you dont want to bump the deer
Its great quality clothing but the carbon is basically worn out before it leaves the store. My buddy swears by his but I dont buy it. If it makes you feel condlfident then by all means wear the stuff. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 4
I wear scentlok camo. I am not sure about the technology. I am sure that the camo is of good quality. I am very hard on my camo and this will be the 6th year using the same camo. I will be buying something new next year and like the idea of Lost at this point.
I have a pair of scentlok pants, not because it keeps my scent in (that I don't believe), but because it's good quailty camo. It serves the exact purpose I want it to. No reason to have buyer's remorse, you have a nice set of camo.
No. That 8 pointer 10 yards from my stand had no clue I was there sitting in my army surplus bdu's in the 85 degree heat last Saturday. The "free" wind was blowing the other direction
I think it's a waste of money to be honest. I don't have any Scentlok...but do have two Scentblocker jackets. I bought them cause of quality.
I have some scent lok gloves but scent blocker pants and jacket. I have just used them yet but I will soon. I think the technology works, but I'll have to try it.
I prefer scent blocker over scent lok. They are both great quality clothing though that will last through many washes and hunts
I have some, not for the carbon, but because it's good stuff. Shop around in the offseason online, you can get it very cheap. I just bought a Full Season Jacket for $39, my second one. It's a great jacket
Classic question. Look forward to it every year. Atlas where are you???? I think it helps, maybe not eliminate 100% but if you smell 100 yards further away does it matter to a deer? You betcha ! You can not neglect wind even if sitting in a bath tub of dead down wind. But it all helps. Would you buy an ozonic? I'm considering it! Some don't believe some do, some shoot Mathews some don't. Pick a side it's your money. Ill spend mine to gain an edge.
I wear Scent Blocker and no I don't buy into it eliminating or controlling scent. It is very good quality and that is why I buy it. I live 30 minutes from Robinson Outdoors and they have what they call their Garage sale once a year. I bought a Dream Season suit last year for $200.00
In early season I wear light weight camo pants and a light weight camo long sleeve shirt. I do use scent a way spray. Last year I got permission to hunt a new spot during season used scent a way spray I was hunting from the ground (not a ground blind ) killed one doe at 8 yards the following weekend shot another. But wind was also in my favor.
I don't use scentlok camo, I hunt the wind and stick to a scent free routine every time I go hunting. I agree with everyone on here in that it really is quality camo, but I don't believe it works as advertised. I did, however, get a pair of scentlok boxers for christmas a few years ago. I wear them hunting because theyre comfortable, thats about it.
