For those of you who use scent elimination products (soaps, shampoos, sprays, etc) which do you use specifically? Have you tried multiple types before deciding on which ones you'll use? Was there any other factor in determining which you use and which you don't?

In clothing I use Scentblocker products. I really do think they give you an "edge" and they are if nothing else good high quality garments.
I especially like their underlayer stuff with the S3 material. The mid layer and the merino wool base layers are just really great items. For warmer weather I like the wicking bamboo shirts they have for wearing under more basic camo outerlayers.

When you start getting into the liquid products like you are interested in I have pretty refined taste in what I will use.

The Scent Killer "Autumn Formula" spray and clothes washes are my favorite all time liquid product.....wash, air dry, spray, and leave hang dry again.

For Body products and sprays I have again always been a fan of the WR Scent Killer brand stuff. Their deoderant combined with the body soap is the best I've used. I don't know if it's chemical make up of individual people or what but I can honestly tell which stuff works better for me.

For example the Dead down Wind products worked HORRIBLY for me. I'd never buy them again. The clothes wash didn't get out body odor, the soap I guess was working but the doederant almost worked the opposite for me of what it was supposed to do. It seemd to cause more wetness and odor than if I didn't use anything at all. The stuff just flat out did not work for me. Went right back to the Scent Killer deoderant and I can hunt all day get home and out of my hunting clothes and I still can't smell any underarm odor.
IS it my personal Ph level? Who knows but I'm locked in on Scent Killer brand body products.

The Dead Down Wind mouth spray?! LOL I think you'r better off gargling a turd.

I will leave the gargling turds to you PA boys.

And Matt, you're not spraying your Scent-Blocker stuff with the Autumn Formula are you?? Or your undergarments that you wear under the SB for that matter.

I gotta agree with Matt, I'm a big fan of the Scent Killer brand.

I personally feel it's better to smell like absolutely nothing rather than cover up. So I don't use any of the autumn forumulas or dirt scents, nothing like that.

I've used HS Scent Away, Scent Killer, Scent Shield.....But I keep coming back to Dead Down Wind. I've used that exclusively for 2 years now. THE selling point for me was my daughter's shoes. Not to be gross, but my oldest daughter's feet STINK. It was bad enough one day I sprayed them down w/ E3 Field spray. BLAMO PRESTO, the stink was gone. I've been sold on it ever since.

That I am aware of, I've not been winded by a deer in about 2 or 3 years. Yeah, I'm sure somewhere I have and just don't know it. But there's not a time in the last couple years I've had deer blow out of my area. I have deer in close quite often. I've had them smell my pull up cord and even branches I've just cut out of trees. I just have 100% confidence in it, and will be using it again this year.

No that stuff only gets sprayed on anything that ISN'T Scentblocker. cotton long sleev shirts, BDU pants that type of stuff. Hats, gloves etc.

I started off using the Autumn formula many many years ago well before I ever thought of scentblocker type clothing.........maybe before that stuff? Anyway I had so many good results with deer approaching unexpectedly downwind with nothing but a shower, scentkiller soap and deoderant and Autumn formula spray that it became a habit.
When you spray your clothes with it and leave them hang for a day, after they dry they really just smell like dirt.......Some of them smell a little funky to me like Scent Shield "Fall HArvest" or whatever they call it. They smell "synthetic" to me, but Scent Killer Autumn forumla after it's sprayed on seems to work great.
Thats why I won't use those HS Scent wafer in 'Earth" scent either, they just smell to much like a chemical to me and nothing like dirt.
That Autumn formula Scent Killer has just always had that light real dirt smell.

I do have 2 gallons........YES GALLONS of plain scent Killer as well that I use too, but I've always been partial to "Autumn Formula"

You also have an added edge with your bald head.

    Less hair.. less scent.

It's probably the single most over-looked reason you scored last year Don.:d

Mostly DDW, but use Scent Killer's deodorant instead of DDW's... DDW's deodorant smells very "sweet".

For clothing I have the Scent Blocker 3D Realleaf suit, Jacket and Pants.

I wash everything I wear in Sport Wash and let it air dry. Then I store it in a H.S. Scent Safe bag until time to hunt (the green one with the double zippers).

I spray down with Scent Killer before walking into the field. I like the oderless kind. I'm not a fan of the Autumn or dirt scented ones.

One new thing Im trying this year is the Scent Sheild Odor Dry. Im not sure how effective they are yet. I guess we'll see. At only 6 or 7 bucks I figured they were worth a try.

You just take the lid off and toss them in your clothes bag.

I use the HS shampoo and body wash, and the WR UV Killer and soap for the clothes.
Not much on the sprays myself but the wife uses Scent killer from WR and Zeb (Ruttnut) uses the Scent Zapper Dirt Formula.

You just might want to give some of this stuff a try. I seem to remember you getting busted by the deers noses a few times on your dvd's. And you sweat a lot setting up your stands.

I know your not a fan, but give it a try. This stuff really does work. It may save your butt a couple of times a season when the wind shifts.

I use the HS Green Soap too.

I wash my stuff in UV Killer and HS Detergent.

I use Arm & Hammer unscented deodorant.

    Baking soda toothpaste.

I've been switching sprays almost every year and probably will try DDW this year.

I used many different sprays up till last year. I bought a HS kit with the soap, deoderant, bag, etc....for 20 bucks besides the spray everything else lasted me most of the season. I had good results....I was pegging deer downwind of the oak tree i was in with acorns when I was trying to get out at dark. This year I think I will throw something different.:ninja:
