I've used Scent Away and Scent Killer the past few years just because I had large bottles to use up. Likely won't have enough to make it through another season so may mix it up and try something else. Just not sure what yet (knowing me, likely whichever is on sale).

I finally decided to get an account after looking at all these post and not being able to reply, so hello everyone!
I have a pretty good understanding of what it does. (My roommate/football teammates uncle created it) From my understanding it encapsulates the scent as it the it takes the scent molecules and destroys them(or covers them up, not sure) I do know that I took my pack out of my bin to hang some stands which has been soaking in the scent wafers you can buy to use as a cover scent in January(http://www.amazon.com/Hunters-Speci...8&qid=1438917213&sr=8-1&keywords=scent+wafers) I sprayed that down and I couldn't even smell the cover scent that was in it for almost a year. It seems to work pretty well, excited to try it this fall

Well welcome. Do they use baking soda like some companies or different types of enzymes?

I'm not 100% about that. http://scentkapture.com/index.php/how-it-works, that is what I found on their website. We move back in tomorrow so I will ask him when I see him and have him answer that question.

I tried smoking my gear last year, simply built a fire in back yard, hung gear and smoked them up. I smoked them 3 times through the season I fell it works for me, so I will do it again this year. it may have just been good luck but I had more deer come down wind straight to me without busting me. To each their own, works for me, does not work for others.

I am going to wash gear in borax a few times then smoke them, place in big zip lock bag with some pine branches and I should be good.

i go through baking soda by the cases. all of my hunting clothes including socks (not my underware though) are washed/dried with it.

i dry each load in a clean dryer with 1 full box and infuse every stitch with it.

its so seldom i get busted its not even worth mentioning it.
of course i take every other precaution also.

i also take a bath before each outing and use plain ivory soap. i feel that this step is VERY important as i can get a better scrubbing in the tub. once done, i rinse off in the shower.

Save your $, use baking soda. Or just hunt the wind. There's no way to prevent a deer that's in your scent stream from smelling you.

Make sure and hunt downwind of them! The only scent control I have found that works 100% of the time .

Anyone else notice that Scent Away leaves white debris/powder all over everything you spray it on? I used it last fall and my bow is still cached with the stuff. DDW for me here on out.

Scent control is like guarding Michael Jordan, you can't stop it you just try to somewhat contain it. In the end you are going to get burned from time to time no matter what you do.

I didn't say downwind, I said in your scent stream. 2 different things. Your scent might have been blowing right over the top of those deer.

I'm gonna try smoke this year also on top of my other routine. I tried DDW years ago and to me it had a smell. So I've stuck with Scent Killer and Scent Away which has worked great.

I've used scent away, scent killer, and ddw and I think as a whole the ddw products are better. I got smelled less using ddw products.

I've had good luck with Scent Away...I'll stick with it until it no longer seems to work.
