I use dead down wind detergent. Every couple hunts they get washed or if I sweat they get washed but if its cold they can go a few hunts prob 3-4 without the need to be washed. Depends on how much you sweat and what you do.
I try to wash them at least once a week but I have two suits so I can swap them out if needed. I use scent killer detergent and have been pretty happy with the results. I do like to hear what others use always willing to learn.
I only wash my stuff once or twice during the season but always keep it in a scent lock container in my truck & spray it down good when I get dressed/undressed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have washed my stuff 3 times since the season started here with scent free detergent. I do keep it in a scent free container as well and get dressed at my hunting spot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I use Dead Down Wind Detergent and dryer sheets. I also use Scent Blocker detergent on occasion. I wash my base layer and second layer every time after a hunt IF I sweated a bunch. My outer layer I only wash if dirty or once or twice a month. I feel that the base layer (anti-microbial) should get washed frequently as its entire job is too kill/prevent the bacteria that cause odors. The second layer is for warmth and the outer layer is for catching any scent that might have still been produced. Although not asked, I believe strongly in the Scent Blocker line of clothing. I consistently get close to deer even with the wind not in my favor (still cannot close the deal though - my fault not the clothes). I also use their field spray along with Dead Down Wind field spray.
Clothes prep is really important. None of my camo is "scent control", well my 1/4 zip may be, but no my outer or my base. Anyways, I wash everything with dead down wind detergent and dryer sheets. I then have a big plastic tub that all my camo goes in. Inside the tub I have a bunch of the hunter specialties fresh earth scent dryer sheets. I've had deer down wind of me, right up next to my stand, standing where I cut my shooting lanes an hour prior... I have yet to be winded. I wash all my camo after every weekend (I can only hunt weekends due to work). As soon as I come in, it goes in the tub with the fresh earth sheets. I really like the dead down wind stuff. I think it does a great job of taking any of the smell out. That reminds me, I need to get some more tomorrow!
