Well, this years theme is "no baiting". Weve made a vow not to put any corn out at our main farm this year to see what it does for the hunting. This means its time to go heavy on the food plots. On this particular farm i have 9 plots planned, and one each on two others.

First pictures are some before and after of our main clover plot located in the center of the "south" farm.

Followed by a new clover/chicory plot i planted that was brassicas last year and another all clover plot on our west farm that's brand new. Ill be updating this as the season progresses.

Depends what you want to plant drag it after seeding...bigger seed sown now and than dragged it will bury it a little more than top spreading. Looking good man!

Like Ty said, I've good luck sowing bigger seed by disking with the blades on minimal cut to open up "rows", broadcasting the bigger seed allowing it to fall in the rows. I've then disc again to cover seed. Cultipacker this then broadcast small seed over the top, cultipack again.

Im unable to get a disk in this location unfortunately.

I need to invest in a 3 point disk sometime soon.

I've used a small harrow as well.
I understand the hard to reach areas.

Good call on the no corn for this year. I have a feeling your going to like the results. I did it last year and had a big increase in buck pics and sightings. I probably had more mature buck pics then I ever had over corn. The biggest thing is trust your food plots and don't fall back on old habits.

This has always been somthing ive wanted to do but where im at and the layout of our land I think it would be hard. Our 200 acres is formed of 5-40 acres parcels forming a Z shape. Everyone baits and baits super hard around us. I feel like if we had a big block of acres it would be easier for us to pull off.. please let us know how this transpires through the season. And good luck .

Got my in the woods kill plot dragged and seeded last night before the rain. Used the clover/chicory blend once again. Pretty happy with the results.

All my existing plots are done. With the exception of an add on, all my plots from this point on are new plots.[IMG]

Started on a new food plot the other day. This spot has been "open" to the sunshine for quite some time due to wells being capped off. Its gonna be a work in progress.

Got alot of work in lately. For starters, we decided to kill our crimson clover patch and put in a large bean/oats plot. The clover didnt survive the weed spraying and was real patchy. Took an entire weekend but im VERY happy with the results.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

We also got the campground plot killed and tilled. Its very rocky limestone soil so were gonna have to add some organic matter.[IMG][IMG]
