A few cam pics from this week: Creek crossing is still covered by Coverts. I moved my Cuddeback into a swamp, i could see where deer have been wading around in this wet soggy mess. Should be a pretty cool photo opp. I also set up a rotten lock with Monster Raxx cherry attractant in an old horse pasture, put a Moultrie over that. I still have one Moultrie up on my Monster Razz mineral lick, and one more at the shop getting worked on.
Our cousin Nathan found 2 more on our grandparents farm this week. One was pretty nice: Me and Luke spent a few hours walking today with no luck. I did find some nice camera trap locations on the neighbors property though: Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
Another week has gone by, so i checked the cams. Things are slowing up a bit (which is expected for this time of year): Shed buck?
Today's plan was to start clearing the first of my 3 kill plots, but since it was windy, rainy and my buddy Matt was working a 24, i decided to do my final scouting/shed hunting of the year for my chunk of the woods. First thing i found...possum? A few pics of where one of my larger food plots is going to go: A squatch hut? (These things creep me out, i find them all over the place. Who the hell has time to build one of these!?):
For Dan, a few shot of my property, Some of the open areas: And the main bedding area, which is about 2 acres, and right off the border of my land (I do have permission to hunt it):
One last post, our buddy Nathan with another shed he found yesterday while out with us: And a better angle of todays dead head: Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
Thought so myself. They were located right in the middle of the above mentioned bedding area. First and only time ill be going in there this year. Place was torn up, as expected. For the first time i have permission to place stand on the outskirts of this bedding area. VERY excited for rut hunting this year.
Sweet!! Bed hunting Is one of the finest ways to hunt an older buck. Just be sure to hunt on the right wind so you don't bugger It up. Don't over hunt It either. Best of luck bud!!
I can place as many stands as i need for common winds here in Ohio. These are the situations i would save for the last week of October, primarily hunting food sources until then. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
