We used to have very few in the state and localized in certain areas. The last few years the population seems to have exploded. They are seemingly everywhere now. Really cool bird imo. They are the only flappy thing that I know of that can land next to a fense and damned near look over the fense. there is a nest somewhere here that has had a camera mounted in it for a couple years. Google the Iowa eagle cam.
Not sure if they returned to the nest again this year or not but getting a live look inside the 6 foot nest is awesome!

I hit decent size deer last night about 200 yards before our driveway, going about 50 mph. Airbag scared the $&@# out of me and my cobalt shattered like a light bulb.

Ive never had an airbag go off on me so it would probably freak me out too. Where is the deer now?

I checked the site. It's the Decorah eagle cam. They people at the raptor project t who own the cam said the eagles made a new auxiliary nest 350 yards from.the main nest. It's too late to put cameras in that tree and they don't know yet where the pair will lay their eggs this season. It also aaid 2 of the 3 from last year were fitted with transmitters. They both died by electrocution, sitting on power lines. The third is presumed alive but they dont know for sure.

That sucks about your cobalt 14 hope you're alright.

My neighbor dragged it down into a valley. It's toast. Lol probably will set up a camera on it.

I got out and checked the carcass today with the rifle in hand but nothing has touched it. Also took a walk in the far valley where the Monster Raxx is and found no sheds or even that many trails.

Took a little walk/shed hunt today. found a couple old dead heads, and scouted out some food plot locations for 2013...

Nice sized bed on ravine, you can see my house from this spot..

Some type of small animal trail...

    Deer trail..

Location for one of my kill plots this season...

And where the big food plot will be going:

Normal week in February for the cams. Lots and LOTS of yotes. No sign of the turkeys yet... hopefully they return in the next month or so...

I moved this camera (Moultrie M55) to Isaac's roadkill buck. Its out in an open field behind our lake.

Almost 800 pictures of yotes, on 3 outta the 4 cams. Majority at night in the carcasses.

Trapping? No. Too many domesticated dogs running about.

We do shoot them when possible though...
