So , I'm sitting in my tree again and a young doe w/ a couple of spotted fawns show up and SB never even considered making meat. Guess it will have to be a mature buck or a nanny doe. SB
Not sure if it's being soft or not. I pass up way more than I'll ever even consider shooting even with the correct tag in my pocket. When the right animal comes along, you'll know it. Enjoy your hunt, sounds like you already are. Nice.
What bothers me MOST about this thread is that SBtalks about himself in the third person ...... Preacher Tony finds that really weird :D
Can you say Ricky? What bothers me the most is that SB is out there hunting and I still have to wait for 2 weeks. Even though I will take a large number of doe each year, I won't shoot a doe in the early season with fawns. I know they (the fawns) can take care of themselves nutritionally and all of that, but there is no doubt they are more vulnerable without her. As many doe as we need to kill in our area, this is probably the wrong approach, but the one I have always practiced. I am not knocking anyone who chooses othwerwise, I am just giving my preference.
