I hate spending money on hunting items that don't aid me in the actual killing of a deer. However, some of these items every hunter must have and a safety harness is without a doubt, one of the most important and expensive items on that long list. Sometimes it seems that as soon as one has the money to purchase something like this, another unexpected expense comes along. I finally broke down and bought my Gorilla safety harness this summer, before I bought my new bow. Unfortunately, this particular set up comes with a single strap to wrap around the tree once you’re in your stand and a linesmen belt for the climb. Who has all this extra time to put all of this crap on and then back off? I looked around the net and found this helpful article on How to make your own SafeTree Climber system. For the price you pay for a premade life line you can make several of them. I hope that you guys/gals that don't use these because you don't have the money to buy one (ME) will consider at least making your own. Good luck and stay safe.
