All satellite is terrible. That being said, in my experience, DISH has the better customer service and consistent pricing. Since I don't live where I can get Cable let alone fiber, it's my best bet.

Get a great HD antenna and forgot the rest. To much money and a big waste of time. Spend the time with you and your wife doing something real rather watching others living out their dream. I'm done:-/

Maybe Apple TV but seriously. Big waste of money. Entertain each other. Congrats on the new home.

I prefer cable. I don't like weather knocking out my tv reception during storms.

You can typically expect around $70 ish for the most basic plan. That is what we have from dish.

The 2 mains are dish network and direct tv. Both have their pros and cons. I would look at the basic channels and see which is more suiting.
If that is well within your budget and you want more channels, see what packages each offers.

We just get the basic though.

I had DirectTV for about 15 years. I had no issues with it. Weather would only affect it a couple times a year, and when it did, it was only for a few minutes usually. To me, that's better then when your cable goes out, and it's days before they get it fixed. They offer a ton of channels in HD, way more than most of their competition. I also never really had any issues with their customer service, but I also never had any issues with the service where I had to contact customer service.

I'm not sure how much more the HD costs. We just have the standard.
Our satellite only goes out a few times a year but like said above, not for very long. Typically if it goes out you might want to think about taking cover anyways, lol.

Search for " hd antenna" on eBay and thousands will come up. The one we have we get about 30 channels. When we rotate it we can get different channels. The quality is really good through a newer tv.

They did, but they already had a replacement in place. Their thought process was that the weather channel has just become another reality show channel that has weather on it. They replaced it with a dedicated weather channel, without the reality shows.

They have real low profile one's in HD and it's the best picture you'll ever get on your TV. Blueray quality and it cost nothing. Not sure how many channels in depends on your area. I have both but whatever channel i pick up through my antenna I bi-pass the box. Fantastic picture.

Lots and lots of stuff on the boob tube but as I get older I realize how much time I've wasted watching sit-com and lousy movies. Just something to think about.

When the hurricanes knocked out our power for a few weeks at a time it's amazing how much more we did rather than veg in front of the telle.

Good luck. I pay $100 a month with Direct TV which I think is the best.
