Sapp all day, any day. There are a handful of amazing DE's id take over Strahan, but Sapp was onr of the best interior dlineman to ever play.
Your stats are mute in this argument simply because of the position Sapp played. Interior. Jon Randle would be the closest comparison, and he was truly a great.
It's hard to compare stats for people who played different positions to say who is better but you can apply it to who should be in the HOF. To say Strahan doesn't deserve to be in the HOF is a bit stupid in my opinion. When you look at those who are in the HOF but don't really have an statistical reason to be there, it makes you realize that people like Strahan should be in the HOF. Like Bob Griese who never threw for more than 2,500 yards in a season and only threw more than 20 TD in two seasons. But because he was a leader and on a good team with a good run game, he managed to win 2 Super Bowls and eventually found himself in the HOF. Strahan basically did the same with the Giants, he led the defense and won a Super Bowl, broke a single season sack record, defensive player of the year, 2000's all decade team, and 7-time Pro-Bowler so why Bob Griese and not Strahan? Now in regards to Sapp and Strahan, how can you call one position inferior to another? You can't penalize someone because they play a certain position. It's a team game, so the basis has to be on personal stats. My opinion is that both should be in the HOF, period.
