Warren Sapp says Michael Strahan doesn't have the numbers to get into the HOF even though Strahan's numbers crush Sapp's.

If you could only vote one of these two in who would you choose?

I think both are HOF players. If I had to only choose one, it would be Sapp. He was the best at his position for a few seasons, I'm not sure if you can say that about Strahan.

I think they are both HOF players also but if I had to choose one I would take Strahan. I think a HOF player has to be more than a great player how you carry yourself has to be part of it and I think Sapp should keep his mouth shut more than he does.

Agree 100%. Strahan was a good leader and teammate and seemed to be liked by many. Can't say that about Sapp and him bad mouthing Strahan is just Warrens way of keeping himself relevant IMO.

I'd take Sapp over Strahan any day.

Strahan's record is a bit tainted in my book. Favre laid down for him.

Ok let's take away the record and the one sack that Strahan had no control over. Favre laid down what was he supposed to do not touch him? He still has almost 50 more sacks and hundreds more tackles than Sapp.

Comparing number of sacks between the two makes no sense at all since they played different positions.

I believe Strahan should make the HOF.

But, If I had to choose between the two I would lean towards Sapp. He was so incredibly disruptive to an offense from his defensive tackle position. Nothing bothers a QB more than pressure coming right up the middle collapsing their pocket.

I would hope a DE would have better numbers than a DT

And I would vote Sapp, easily. He was one of the most dominant DT ever.

Of course Strahan would have more sacks, that is what a defensive is paid to do. Sapp was a much more disruptive player who drove the Tampa Bay defense for years. Being a defensive tackle you don't get the glory that a defensive end gets.

When Sapp was at The U, the only guys who outran him during sprints were the wide receivers and Sapp came out of high school as an all-American tight end. He was a far superior athlete to Strahan, but since he was inside at tackle he didn't have a chance to rack up the glory stats like Strahan. Plus, Strahan played two more seasons than Sapp, so naturally his stats will be higher.

Defensive ends who rack up sack numbers aren't that rare, but finding a tackle like Sapp isn't easy to do. If I'm starting a team from scratch, I'd take a player like Sapp over a player like Strahan.

I get that he should have better stats because of his position and the only reason I brought them up was the fact that is what Sapp based the reason why Strahan shouldn't be in the HOF. If you are going to say that maybe you should have better numbers than the guy you are badmouthing. Again I think Sapp was one of the best D tackles and should be in the HOF but he should shut his mouth.

That's just part of what Warren does. He was a talker on the field, so why would that change off the field?

Sapp is just stupid...If Strahan shouldn't be in the HOF than neither should Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White or the likes....Sapp is just being Sapp, never has been professional enough with his words or actions.

I would take Sapp just because of the motor that guy had when he played. He was 100mph every play.

That being said neither of these guys would crack the top 3 or 4 all time at their positions. They were both great and definitly HOF worthy. They just aren't the best.

Without looking up stats or anything and just based on watching them, I would lean towards Sapp from what I remember. He seemed to be more dominate and had to be accounted for more than Strahan. To be honest neither of them make me jump out of me seat saying they are HOF bound. Good solid players, but not on the radar as the best of the best IMO.

I would pick Sapp. That being said, I can't stand him.

Sapp made it into the HOF on the first ballot. Usually it takes a special player to do that.

I suppose. Like I said, I really don't know his career stats and how they compare. Obviously pretty good. He just doesn't jump out at me as say a Reggie White, LT, Dieon Sanders, Singletary etc....
