Rick Santorum won the primary last night here in Alabama and in neighboring Mississippi. Gingrich was second and Romni was third. Paul was a very distant also ran. In Alabama, Romni is seen by most as another Washington liberal. Gingrich is Romni's secret weapon in most of the South because when he drops out, 75% of those voting for Gingrich will likely vote for Santorum. Gingrich and Paul, by staying in the race, are both making a nomination for Romney far more likely though depending on where you get your news, either Santorum and Romney have pulled even or even slightly of Obama. Likely a knee jerk reaction to the revelation that Obama has been behind the rise in gas prices to European levels. Why would he do that? I am trying to wrap my mind around why he would want gas prices to go up. Anyone?

It makes the poor even more dependent on the government to take care of them. Guess what party they are going to vote for.

It was all over Fox last night and even showed an interview (not sure when this took place) of Obama saying America needed to "gradually" raise gas prices to European levels because a sudden increase would be too much strain. (paraphrased)

"The President's Energy Secretary Steven Chu acknowledged Tuesday at a Senate hearing that he indeed told the Wall Street Journal in September 2008 that getting U.S. prices up to higher, European-level gas prices would help move Americans to use more renewables."

There was also a clip that Obama's solution was for people to inflate their tires and get frequent tune-ups... seriously that clip was on Hannity. I am sure it will be on again.

Chu will likely become the fall guy but it is clearly a policy put forth through the Obama admin.

LOL you do see that this was 2008, right? It is not a policy put forth by the administration. This is from the link you posted:

Why would a president jack up gas prices in an election year?

I hope the next country the US invades for oil maybe we could get some while we are there. Gas here is 3.70 in mo. and in Europe it is $10-11 Maybe you should turn the channel sometime.:lol:

First during a election year politicians will say anything to get elected and do anything to smear the other side doesn't matter which side your on. Both sides are so corrupt does it even matter anymore?

I am surprised that the only talking points there are is birth control and moon bases just shows how far away all politics are from whats going on in this country.

Actually I seldom watch news because #1 I don't believe much of anything I see on television, #2 it bores me silly and #3 I have better things to do than watch hosts such as O'Reilly interrupt their guest constantly. I was watching for the most part because one of my dear friends, Tommy Bryan, is running for the Alabama Supreme Court. (He won and will be un-opposed in November)

They were talking about the gas thing on Fox, CNN and MSNBC but my point was that it is apparently influencing the polls concerning how people would vote if the election were today. I used the term "knee jerk" reaction because of the apparent revelation that had surfaced.

Yes, I realize the information concerning the report initially surfaced in 2008 but knowing his position, he was still appointed to the Obama cabinet. That's going to be a difficult "Spin."

For the record, I am neither a Republican or a Democrat. In the past two elections, I have voted for the Constitution Party candidates; Michael Peroutka in '04 and Charles Baldwin in '08.

Yes, I know people say I am wasting my vote and that I should choose the lesser of two evils. I happen to believe we deserve a candidate that is not considered more or less "evil" to choose from. That way I can with good conscience vote FOR a candidate instead of AGAINST a candidate which is the position the Republicans seem to be taking.

Redistribution of Wealth comes straight from the "Communist Manifesto" by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels Chapter 2. Socialism... is a watered down version.
