I don't think so ... especially the Santa Claus thing ... and again, I don't feel any ill will towards my parents for doing it ... nor for any parent that does it ... I just didn't do it and to be honest, where I was at the time it was strongly preached against ... so I am sure that has alot to do with it...

I was curious as to who does it and who doesn't and why .... Hook's thread and a Convo at work is what prompted the thread ...

For the record, I put lie in quotes on the title because I don't see it as a normal lie and that is what someone at work was calling it .....

Thats because christmas wasn't originally the celebration of jesus' birthday. Christians took a pegan holiday, one that was very non christian, and tried to change it so it would be more civilized. They did this by calling the 25th jesus' birthday. So now christians celebrate a day that originally included intoxication, rape, and human sacrifice. Funny how that works.

 

Its funny what the God haters take as gospel as they ignore the true Gospel.....

 

So christians created a lie, and now they detest that people still use that lie today. Sounds kind of hypocritical, no? That would be very uncharacteristic if so.

Lets not forget the catholic church created the "lie", or story, that santa (aka St. Nicholas) delivered presents on christmas.

I did the Santa thing with my kids and I'm glad I did. They figured it out pretty early, but it was a great time in our lives while it lasted...and I wouldn't change a thing. As a Christian family, they know who Jesus is...and going through the Santa years didn't hurt a thing.

 

What makes you think that people that do not believe in god hate him? How can you hate something you don't believe in?

 

Easy ... Some people hate Santa .... so it is not necessary to believe in something to be able to hate it ... they hate the idea of it .... Bruce ... you are not like the ones I am talking about ... nothing like them ...
