So do you tell your kids there is a Santa? If so, what kind of comments have you got from them when they realize it was not true?
Nope. Both my boys have always thought Christmas was about celebrating the birth of Christ, and a remembrance of the gifts the wise men gave Jesus when they arrived at his door... Imagine that.
Same here. But I have to admit. Personally I still have this romantic thought that it would be really cool if he was real. I mean come on. How awesome would that be?
Same here, but I have a girl and a boy. We have a great picture of Hillary in school with every student running to Santa clause when he walked in, she did not move nor did she care. Now my son tells everyone at school there is no Santa clause, lol.
We did tell them that there was a Santa when they were younger. The older one, who is exceptionally mature, figured out the truth, and that pretty well ended it for the little one too (less than 2 years apart). We have always been very clear that, while this Santa dude brings presents, it is all for the birth of Jesus Christ. In fact that is one tradition I don't ever see us ending - every Christmas morning we have a birthday cake for Jesus. Only day of the year we let the kids eat cake for breakfast.
Hahaha...a coward? I'm pretty sure I've made my beliefs VERY clear on this forum. Christians talking about the christmas "lie" is the trendiest pompous behavior in recent years. Look you want to tell your kids a guy in a robe walks on water. I tell mine a fat guy in a red suit flies. Same difference. We have just as much proof they both exist. Story in a book.
My kids, if we decide to have any, will have Santa come to the house. Besides, Jesus wasn't born in December
Just wanted everyone to see this... A HUGE difference between the two..... you won't kneel before Santa one day and call Him Lord and Savior at the judgement.... but you WILL bow before The Lord Jesus Christ one day ....one way or another... Whether you believe it or not....
Sure I do. I did it with my kid until he figured it out.. a young age. But even still today, if my buddy is playing the Santa Clause game with his grand children.... well hell, I'm in. I'm not going to be the one that kills Rudolf for them. All the milk and cookies under the tree for Santa and all that... it's a fun time of year. You can have the religion and the Santa at the same time. Growing up we always did the midnight mass and confessions etc etc etc. AND.. we also had Santa. They were two separate things. I'm not a big Church guy anymore. I kind of lost that in the service.
