So does anyone actually like their safety harness. What is the most comfortable and quiet harness out there??? I cannot find one that makes for an all day sit that doesn't annoy me after an hour!!! So lets hear it?!!

i just use the ones that come with my stands and i hate them with a passion. i am thinking about trying out the new spider harness. but i will want to try it before i pay over $100 for something like that.

I've got a Muddy now and like it, but will be wearing a Spider Harness this fall. I like the fact it clips into my Scent Blocker jacket.

i just went to the local d i c k s sporting goods store and bought a regular hunters safety system harness. i liked it, spent 3 all day sits in it(in a row) and didnt bother me to the point i hated it. also, im partial to liking anything that is designed to save my life in the event i do something wrong, just saying.

I hate mine, got it at Cabelas about 8 years ago. I plan on getting a new one this season.

The Spider looks like it will be pretty comfy, I got on the "notify me" list for it

I've also been wearing the Muddy for the past 3 seasons and really like it. However I'll be giving the Tree Spider a go this fall. I like the fact that there's no waist belt and it can clip into my jacket. I've already worn it and it's very light, easy to put on, and comfy. Judging from the response at the ATA show I'd say this will probably be one of the hottest new products for this year.

X2. I can't complain about my Muddy, I've got over 300 hours in it. BUT no waist belt has me hooked. I'll likely be giving the Spider a go as well.

The Spider looks real nice. And I bet that "Livewire" device is gonna be a hot seller too

The other thing I really liked about the Tree Spider was the adjustability of it. Since it's constructed in a "Figure 8" there's one strap on either side that when pulled tightens both your leg straps and your shoulder straps at the same time. If you need to loosen it back up, you simple pull back down on the buckles and it comes loose. Very, very simple and quick. I really like that b/c I can adjust it to the correct size based upon how many layers I have under it. With the Muddy you can only adjust the legs easily, the shoulders are more difficult. On an HSS they're both a pain.

The video makes it seem like you can "spiderman" out of the tree at the end of the hunt, but it's just for falls I think.

I like idea, but you still need a HSS lifeline type device for climbing up right?

Yes, just for falls, and one time use only.
I don't see the need for the additional lifeline device though while climbing though. Could'nt you use this while climbing?

No, you can't use the Live Wire while climbing. It's a one-time use device that you secure in your stand, and in the event of a fall it will lower you to the ground safely. Its main purpose is to prevent suspension trauma which is just as deadly as falling out of your stand without a harness at all.

While climbing you should still have something like a Muddy or HSS Life Line.

So JZ, you don't use it to even just descend, just in case of falling. Got that. What do will they retail for?

Hmmm, I forgot you guys are mostly sticks and lockon users. Obviously it would'nt work for that.
I use a climber mostly, could'nt I have the Livewire attached, sliding it up as I climb?

Attached to the tree strap, yep, that would work.

I use one of the latest HHS and I have had No problems with it. Comfort has not been an issue either.

I've been wearing the Muddy for 3 seasons now. Honestly, I've never adjusted the shoulders. Never had a need to. Not saying it isn't an issue for some.....just never done it. I do wear my harness under my outer layers. So, that may make a difference.

Totally agree, Justin, on the HSS being a pain in the ass, though. Couldn't get rid of that thing quick enough.

The Spider looks good. Just not good enough to warrant a switch.

I used an HSS Pro for several years and switched to the UltraLite last year. I've got no complaints and once I adjusted the straps I was good for the season.

I have a Gorilla brand that I can wear all day. Light, ez to put on, quiet and comfortable. They ungraded the one I have to the G30 Exo. http://www.gorillatreestands.com/exo-tech-safety-harness. Mine was about $70 on sale. They new ones are closer to $150 and I have not looked at one in person but looks very similar.

I also use a climbing rope on all of my fixed tree stands. I am hooked up before my feet leave the ground. I use the Hunter Safety System life line. I see they have a harness like the Gorilla I have. They call it HSS Ultra Lite. http://www.huntersafetysystem.com/store/safety-harnesses.html

I would wear a safety harness if it gave me a weggie all day. I know two paralized peolpe that fell from a stand. One only 6' high. Don't take the risk. YOUR FAMILY DEPENDS ON YOU.
