I'm getting ready to get back to bowhunting from a 15 yr hiatus. Back then I only needed a safety belt and strap, but now the safety harness is the thing to use. So, I'm 5'11" and weigh about 170#. I have my eye on the HSS harness and it says the sizes: S/M(100-175 lbs.), L/XL(175-250 lbs.). How exactly do these harnesses fit? If I'm in between sizes, can these harnesses be loosened enough to account for the layers I would be wearing? Should I go to the next size up?
Hey i was having the same problem as you. (around the same size) I was told to go up a size so i got the L/XL and i was able to adjust it down enough to fit me properly.
I'm 6'2" and 205#. I have the L/XL and I'm near the limit for how small I can get the harness to go. Granted, I wear it under all my bulky gear. I'd say that if you plan on wearing it on the outside go big, and if you plan on wearing it on the inside go medium. Both, will likely have the adjustability you need.
Thanks for this thread. I'm at that in between size and bought a large last night. Called them this morning and down sized since I'm a guy who usually goes under the clothes with my harnesses. Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
I am about your size - 5'10 and 160 lbs... I went with Large/XL but I always wear my harness on the outside... mostly because I like having it secured against all my hunting clothes for shooting. Also for my video obligations... Fits like a charm, not sure about the smaller one as far as fit but I am very happy with the current sizing and the one I have. Hope this helps.
I'm 5'10" 160 lbs, I bought it when I was 190lbs, bought a S/M then, and had plenty of room at both weights.
