Thanks for all the blessings guys, I will be re-inventing my plans for hunting in the future. I don't feel especially safe in my climber, I may go the hang on route with sticks for quiet access and less problems with the harness.

I am young, athletic, in great shape and I still feel and hurt myself, no one is invincible and I got a little wake up call today.

And I'll be clipping two thermacell's on my back from now on, god these mosquito's are the size of small humming birds and they draw blood as soon as they bite!

Jtrump, even on my LW sit and climb I strap myself into the tree. It adds maybe a minute or two to your climb. You can move up two rotations before you need to move the strap up, and going down I usually moved it down every time. That said, I got the LW alpha and sticks this past winter, and I have yet to even get the climber out of the garage. With that setup I use a climbing belt as I set up my sticks, and carry a second strap as well and set that up just above my stand, so I can hook into that before I step onto the stand. There isn't a moment I am not strapped in. The most important part of going out hunting is to make sure you come back.

Glad im reading this from you and not as a news brief. You are one lucky SOB. Do you have children? Look long and hard at them if you do and imagine getting back into that tree without the proper safety procautions. Changes your perspective quick

^^ I'm not sure you read my post in it's entirety. I was wearing a harness, but I adjusted my seat, thermacell before clipping in and the strap to the seat broke hence why I fell.

Yes I have 4 children, and I will continue to come home daily. I've been hunting that climbing stand for 5 years and hundred's of sits, something broke and my routine happened to be different on that day, moral of the story..

Third hand stabilizer straps. Better than ANY factory straps out there. Well worth the money!
