How have you seen deer use saddles like the two circled in blue? To the west is flat land we call swamps. In your opinion, does the steep hill to the west hurt or help the northern saddle in this particular situation? My first thought is the southern saddle is best based on the draw leading upward to it.
The South one definitely looks like a tighter pinch to funnel deer within bow range. Although I personally like the Northern one a little more as it's bringing a few more things together in a single spot. Seems like it would be a better hub of activity.
Like Justin said both look good. I also agree that north may be better with the right wind. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I've been thinking about the wind. Initial thoughts is a good east wind but I will get boots on the ground soon to see the traffic/ trails and make a decision then.
Walton, best of luck. Marked up that map with some spots I would check out (disclaimer...Im a 2.5 year old buck slayer, not a big buck guru. lol). Yellow deer travel. Blue=winds. Red circles=potential stand sites.
