Wow! Brian Cashman and Yankee front office what is up? There's some issues when they can't even sign Carl Pavano to a 1 year deal. He said thanks but no thanks and stayed with the twins. That and the fact that they are that desperate to make him an offer? What in the world is going on in the bronx?

I still think they'll trade for a starter. Most of the pitchers left in the FA market aren't difference makers, especially in the AL east.

He didn't exactly have a great stay at the Yankees last go around. Pretty much robbed them and moved on. I don't think too many yankee fans were all that excited about him coming back.

Keep him. He'll be resorted to cleaning urinals for the Twins for 4 years to earn his paycheck like he did at Yankee stadium with all his hangnails he suffered.

His years are numbered though with his age. Kinda like the Yankee's. ;)

They paid the dude 40 million dollars to over 3 years (i think) to make what amounted to 20 starts cause he had "boo boos". He had a whopping 9-8 record for them with an era around 5. So yeah he robbed them for 40 million and left. Thaks for the 20 or so appearances ($2mil a start?) and the 9 wins ($4 mil a win?). I think they should have made him do janitorial duties to earn some of his pay.Just my opinion.

Probably felt guilty going back. Or he knew it wouldn't be too warm and fuzzy of a reception

By the sounds of It he and Cashman were talking allot but decided he would stay In Mn Instead. You can't beat Minnesota's club house and atmosphere. Same reason as to why Thome signed again. You hear allot of ex Twins say good things about the organization.

You guys got a pretty good GM In Cashman though. Seems decent and does his job well.

How hard of a job is it actually? Unlimited cash to throw at the next big free agent to be!

He's got it pretty easy IMO. "Here's the checkbook go get the best Free Agents out there, build us a team to go to the World Series". With the Yankees money it seems he would have had greater success than he has at putting teams together to win MULTIPLE championships. He's just not getting it done. All the blame on him? Probably not fair, but it can sure start there.

He may have it easy when it comes to cash availability but with that comes the pressure of expected to win all the time.

I suppose it would be impossible for a player to actually prefer playing for the Twins organization than the Yankees huh?

    Whatever dude..

Pavano has too much self respect to sign with the Yankees twice.

Yeah and he should win. He has the biggest payroll in baseball. Losing isn't an option.

If they enjoy getting thumped every year in the playoffs by the Yankees (on the years the twins actuall make it that is) then so be it. Have fun in Minnesota. Whatever dude.
