I lost my honey hole for deer and turkey hunting that I've been going to for 11 years today.. a cabin with 18 acres surrounded by public land. Family friend sold the house and property. Back to square one. Either have to go door to door or I'll be looking for public land, the only thing is there is no public land around me for 2hrs. It's looking to be a down year for me. Is there a possibility of staying close to the public you are used to hunting? Like camp grounds or hotels? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Sorry to hear, that sucks. It's gonna be rough going back to public, but at least you have your health and your able to hunt! I bet my year will suck worse than yours!! I didn't see a deer all year last year remember? Lol!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sounds like your future successes just became far better. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
When you're at the bottom of a hole...... stop shoveling and start looking for a way out!!!! When one door closes...... another opens! Good luck.
There's primitive camping areas so I might be have to resort to that, I'd rather do that than pay for a hotel room anyway lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ya I agree with staying there vs a hotel. I agree with some of the other people tho maybe this is a good thing, something that could make you realize not to get stuck in your ways and try and learn new things!! I know I'm always ready to learn and enjoy new experience. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The same thing happened to me multiple times when non-residents started buying up all of the good hunting ground around here. I finally decided that I had to own ground if my kids and I were going to have good hunting. Best decision I ever made.
The situation will be what you make of it. It's easy to get down about it but that won't help it or help you find a solution. Elkguide is spot on. Do that & you'll be just fine.
