"The rare white buffalo, a male calf named Lightning Medicine Cloud, was found slaughtered and skinned on April 30 on Lakota Ranch near Greenville, Texas, just shy of its first birthday. Its mother died the next day.
The ranch's owner, Arby Little Soldier, said he thinks the mother was poisoned."

Man talk about a total lack of respect for other people's property, culture and animals in general. I really hope they catch this guy/people and throw the book at them.

Celtic, on my mom's side we have a pretty famous Indian ancestor. If I remember correctly, the spirit he envisioned on his spirit quest was a white buffalo struck by lightning. In his eyes it became his protector and he put it on some of his battle gear.

To many Indians, the white buffalo is a sacred animal. I also hope the people that did that to the buffalo are caught and get hammered.

That's really cool virginiashadow, I am very much into learning about and respecting your ancestors. As for the guy who did this, I can only hope the reward that is being offered is enough to entice someone to rat him out.

And just what do these morons plan to do with a rare white buffalo hide? No tanner in their right minds would accept it. Complete lack of respect and class.

    Exactly.

    Buffalo is buffalo.

Illegal killings of an animal is something i can form a lynch mob for though!

bad news all around. its sad that this animal was targeted for its uniqueness, AND the fact that whoever did it knew that the animal meant something "special" if you will to a group of people. that, i find disgusting, folks who do stuff like that are on borrowed time...

Yeah Yeah.... I know all the back to nature crap and all that. Problem is that most people who claim to be Indians aren't much more of an Indian that I am. Give them a casino and they're happy. So much for ancient traditions. LOL

To them it is not "back" to nature crap.

What a great generalization....."Give them a casino and they're happy".

There are more on the side of give me a casino than there are "In tune with the Gods of nature". LOL
The Bureau of Indian Affairs is the biggest sham going in our government. Talk about freeloaders and pay yourself jobs. They win. I don't know how it is where you are....but here the casino and the Indian Nation has the biggest scam going thanks to some political people who tried to be PC and ended up burning the counties and state.
