Just curious to hear what everyone is experiencing in regards to rutting activity. I hunted the last 3 days in W. Kentucky and it is definitely not going on. Most research and predictions pointed at first week of Nov, mainly due to hunters full moon being early on Oct 27th. Temps have been warm (70s - 50s), so apparently has been the issue. This time last year saw a lot of rutting activity, but temps were much better. Going back next week. Hoping for better results. Would like to know what others are experiencing to see how it compares to my experience and all the predictions. Thanks!

Major rut activity in central MN. Had 9 different bucks during daylight yesterday - Hit list buck was on 2 does all morning (as were other bucks). Suspecting they are the first to come into heat. Going to be a fun weekend.

It's been real slow here in Southern Maryland. Two weeks ago small bucks were chasing, but since this heat has moved in NOTHING! I don't know if its just the temperature, but give it a week and it should be on. There comes a point when the deer must breed regardless of temperature, hopefully its not just nighttime movement though.

Yesterday, I traveled from St. Louis, MO to Springfield, IL then to Quincy, IL, and hopped the river at Hannibal, MO then traveled south all the way back to St. Louis, MO. I didn't see a single deer all 480+ miles I drove, plus I mostly took the back roads and stayed off the interstates most of the time. I was confident I would see much chasing, but I saw notta. I was a little disappointed to say the least, as I was driving through some the country's prime hunting areas. places where most of the TV shows are shot, and nothing but hunters trucks parked at all sorts of places leading into woods or field edges. it could be that a lot of buck are locked up with a doe i guess???? I hope thing kick up by tomorrow morning, as it will be my 1st hunt for the year and 1st time I've been in the woods since March.

Good to hear you're having some good activity up there! What have your temps been compared to the average for this time of year?

Warm temps are not an issue for the rut in Central Minnesota!! Seen two of my hitlist bucks chasing does last night and went out this morning and grunted in a nice 10 that i have no history with.. sailed an arrow right over his back. Rut is in full swing!

I think the high temp yesterday was 71. Most activity occurred in the morning. But had action until 12:15pm.

I can't really say I've witnessed any rutting activity here in NW Missouri. Last Sunday, I did see 3 bucks on their feet during daylight. One looked like he might have been marking licking branches, but he didn't do any scraping. A spike was just walking through eating buck brush berries and a mature 8pt walked right under my stand at about 9:30, but I didn't get a shot at him. I tried to get him back by grunting but he showed no interest. I gave him about 10 minutes, then rattled a little but still didn't get a response. I think they are just starting their pre-rut phase here and haven't started seeking yet.

I was planting wheat all morning here and I noticed at least five fresh scrapes along fence lines.

Yep! It's picking up here in Woodson county too. Lots of new sign on my food plots in the last couple days. The mature deer are still visiting them at night tho. Seen a few three year olds Monday from the tree. I've stayed outta the woods since then with this heat. I think Friday morning things are gonna serious in southeast kansas
