It is hard to believe one of the players didn't clean the guys plow. I had my share of yelling coaches, which accomplished nothing beneficial for me, but never had one push me like that, curse me or throw stuff at me. I don't think I would have taken it. We had a discussion in an organizational communication class in grad school concerning when it is appropriate to take the "Axe Handle" approach. The response was an overwhelming "never," because when you do, it is because you have already lost your influence on those with whom you are trying to communicate. I am guessing the same goes with coaching. I just don't understand why one of the players didn't report it.
I am sure you are correct, at least for the average Joe... or they had experienced such behavior before, as Hooker said, and it didn't seem all that out of the ordinary?
