This will be my second year hunting in NC and I was wondering when and how long you guys see the rut in eastern NC, I just read an article that said October 1 is usually the peak rut. What do you guys think ?

Definitely later than Oct 1. Due to a hectic schedule, I have only been able to hunt 5-6 times this season but based on previous years, it should be starting to pick up right now and run through mid Nov. with some days obviously being better than others. Get out there and find out and let me know haha

I've been out whenever possible, I had success on a big 8 point but it's been 2 weeks since that and I haven't seen a deer from the stand

its hard to tell sometimes.....I saw 2 bucks together a week or so ago...but then just a few days ago a small buck rubbing with a doe sorta following him....so I think the pre-rut is in heavy right now

I've had more bucks fighting on camera in the last two weeks than I ever have. Everything from spikes vs spike to 8-10pts. The pre-rut has definitely been in for a while now. I think that cold snap before the hurricane set things off.

I've live in northeast NC. The rut is around 1st week of November. Hard to make it out with all the dog hunting

The rut should be getting ready to kick up. Have had a couple of buddies seeing some bucks fighting and chasing does. The next cold snap should really kick it into gear!!
