Rut activity in Michigan

    Slow rut so far in SW michigan, what have You guys been seeing?

    Have seen some younger bucks chasing and big boys cruising. A few buddies have been seeing a few big boys locked up with does but. Right now they are more so in the lock down phase.

    Will they stay with that doe the rest of the season? I have a lot of mature does on my piece.

    Nope typically only stay with her 3-4 days bread then onto finding the next one. Right now you want to focus on thick areas where he is taking the doe away. Also with these temps some of the deer are starting to think about there stomach more, so a good carb food source could also be a hot spot
