I have been buisier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest lately and have not had a chance to work on my hunting bow for next year. Ill be moving soon, so dont know if ill get much time to work on it this summer. So what does Russ do about the situation? He cooks up a bow that is perfect for me. Here is a Kanga that will be out in the field next hunting season. 69 lbs at 30". Perfect for me. It will spit some arrows and I just happen to have some arrows already made that this bow just loves. I dont feel so pressed now.

No worries mate it's what friends are for:cool:

No big hurry for the Burnie Special either:d

Got the new limbs for my take down almost finished they are in the shop drying.

Jatoba on the back Yellowheart on the belly with Black Walnut wedges, antler/phenolic tip overlays and some of that BBQ wood for limb butt overlays:deer:

They compliment the Morado riser nicely:nana:

I'll post some pics when they dry:tu:

Guess I better apologize for all the mean things I say about the troll now...nah he deserves them somehow!:d Bring it down the 20th of next month Kent! We're having a night shoot, having a 4-H shoot for the kids that morning and you can show your skill with the trad gear!We can take turns holding the spot light.Good looking work Russ we expect nothing less from you.Why you moving Kent? Your wife get tired of your loafing around the house?:d

Ill try my best to get down. If anything, I might just swing down that way to hang out. My summer is going to be a beotch. Reason we are moving is because we bought a bigger house. Im still living in Knox though. I still want to find time to go help you cut some of that pesky bodarck off your land in Okievill. We could swing by Jayton on the way home and load up a bunch of mesquite for ya as well.

Ive got two of the trad bows I hunted with last year. I sold one to a man who made an offer I couldnt resist. My favorite, my old 1978 Herters got a crack in the limb last year, so I retired her. The other two bows I hunted with last year were my own custom builds. One I really liked, but sold it. The other was ok, just didnt quite grow on me that much. I had about an hour to kill last night, so I shot in the bow I was building for next year and it will be out in the woods. Shoots fine. I should be able to finish her up Sunday. So next season ill be sporten a Kanga and a Burnie special. Ill also be makeing up others as the year goes on.
