I critically wounded my air conditioner once. The arrow hit the edge of the target, skipped across the lawn, bounced right over the concrete pad and stuck my condenser. I just laughed while the freon hissed out. My buddy (a HVAC guy) fixed her right up.
Well he feel's bad and being in trouble with the law missing his tourny but what if he was practicing with BROAHEADS for hunting season she would have lost more than a tooth.
If things have'nt changed that much in the army since I've been out he will be tried by a military court. Back when I was still based at fort benning GA guys that went out off base and got in trouble (fights etc) they were brought back to base and tried under the military code of justice and not civil law. But if it was proven to be truly an accident ricorchett, miss fire etc 2 felonies is a bit much. If he was launching arrows in the sky to see where they would fall then tuff crap for him.
From my experience it all depends on if the commander wants to be a Di#*. If the commander wanted to he could take it to military court even after it was taken to civilian court and he could get punished through the military and in the civilian world. Its all about the commander. If it were me I would give the guy a good talkin to and leave it at that. I guarentee he will be safer about it all in the future. It probly scared him pretty good when the cops told him that he hit someone.
that part of St Louis is rather heavily populated and definitely not a place i would be practicing. plus how can he not know he was missing an arrow? better judgement should have been used in this situation
