    RuffTuff Seat Covers
    By: RuffTuff Products LLC

Seems with new technology seat covers are becoming more than what our grandparents used. With the new technology comes great patterns and colors and since I am a bowhunter and write articles for bowhunters I thought I would see what the big deal was about having custom seat covers.
When I contacted Ruff-Tuff Products, LLC I had pictured something a little better than what you by at a big box store. Boy was I in for a big surprise.
Ruff-Tuff Products LLC has been manufacturing "America's Finest Custom Seat Covers" for over 30 years. They are a privately owned company located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
After spending sometime talking to Rich and him speaking to the owners he called me back and thought it would be a great idea to do the write up. So, he said they were going to send me seat covers for my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I thought well that’s enough info…better think again these people are detailed. After I gave him all the detailed info about the model of my Jeep and accessories I waited a short time for the seat covers. After they arrived I was awed by the quality. Each cover was detailed for a particular seat or head rest. So began the job of installing these. First up was to watch the installation videos they provide on their website.
So, after watching the videos I was off to install my seat covers. My seats are leather and I discovered if you use ArmorAll leather care gel it not only cleans your leather seat but makes it much easier to slide the covers over the seat. I did have one issue where I was placing the seat cover on the bottom front seat and my heated seat wire got in the way. I called the company and ask if I just slit the piece going between the top and bottom and they advised not to, that they make the cover that has a built in slit for the wire. People this is attention to detail and puts the custom into custom seat covers. I had to only wait a few days and they arrived and they fit perfectly onto the bottom of my seat.
As far as camo patterns Ruff-Tuff offers the most popular names in the camo industry - Realtree® and Mossy Oak®. These covers are durable, water-resistant, made from 600 Denier material have made these the fabric of choice for a wide range of outdoor enthusiasts. They are advertised to stand up to the toughest treatment, including pets, hunting, and fishing. I have spilled coffee and water on these and had it bead up and wipe clean. As to their toughness I have personally taken a key and put the pointed end down on the material and put more pressure then would be considered normal and guess what... No tear!
The stitching options are available with 2-inch vertical pleats or 6-inch horizontal pleats – giving you some personal choices in your seat design.
These seat covers have finished edges, tailored corners, and color-matched thread, double stitching, and reinforced critical seams.
They also resist mildew and sun-fade! I get in and out of my Jeep constantly all day long and these seats over the last 3 months have not come apart or moved. Normally with cheap seat covers you will need to put the driver’s side on almost on a weekly base. But not with Ruff-Tuff seat covers once on always on.
Their unique foam backing is the highest quality foam! Their seat covers are backed with thick, fire-retardant foam for optimal cushioning and comfort. No other manufacturer uses foam as thick or durable as they do.
Machine cut covers and using a team of pattern designers that have compiled one of the largest databases in the industry, with patterns accurate to hundredths of an inch. Ruff-Tuff uses automated cutting tables to precisely sculpt your seat cover to match your seat, ensuring a perfect fit. I know this is true; they are so exact that you would know immediate if you put the wrong cover on the wrong front seat.
Are they are washable? Yes, they are hand-wash only, using cold water and mild detergent. Drip-dry only. No bleach or bleach products.
Overall, I have enjoyed having these seat covers. Things like the headrest covers never pull on your hair. The 600 Denier makes it easy to get in and out of your vehicle. The list goes on.
So if you are looking to dress up those old dingy seats or just have them last longer and have something you can still enjoy looking at then visit them at www.RuffTuff.com
