I am looking at getting a pair of the "scent free" rubber boots for bowhunting next year & am just curious what gram of insulation you guys reccomend? I am in ND so it is warm in the early season & nasty cold in the late season. I normally don't have an issue with cold feet so I'm just looking for a rough idea. Thanks.

i have the new Lacrosse aerohead, which are rubber and neoprene. the ad claims they are good to -30 and they are really comfortable. they also have a padded shin which is nice when kicking through brush or slipping in the mud and getting banged around.

The Lacrosse is on my radar to get. Sparkchaser have you worn them in the late season cold? How did they do?

Im wearing muck rangers. Bought them a few months back and love them. Do great in early season and when its cold just put on thicker socks.

I have a pair of Muck Woody Elite and love them. I think they have 400 grams but a good pair of wool socks and some toe warmers gets me through any Maryland winter. I swear these boots are indestructable.

I wear Lacrosse and generally put footwarmers in them. No problems in Ohio.

Love my Lacrosse aerohead boots. The only concerns I have is durability. I have noticed some cracking where the outer sole meets the toe box. I hope they aren't a "one season" boot.

I will never buy another traditional rubber boot again. Rubber is cold, heavey, and a PITA to get on and off.

I have the under armour HAW boots uninsulated. Great boot. I use wool socks when temp drops but for me thats around 25-32. May be colder for you. Do you do more of your hunting in warmer or colder temps?

Bought these yesterday... I love em. I went this morning at +30 degrees and my feet were completely comfy. Wore them all day around the house cleaning the doe I shot and almost forgot I was wearing boots.

I couldn't decide between the full rubber Lacrosse Alphaburly Pro 1000g or the Aerohead 7.0mm.
I found lots of reviews on the aerohead boot but nothing on the alphaburly pro. I went with the Aerohead boot and have been in weather down to 28 degrees with 10-15 mph winds with nothing more than crew cotton socks on and haven't had any problems with my feet getting cold while sitting on my stand. I thought they might not hold up against brush because of the neoprene but I put them to the test through brier's and they still look new. Won't buy another pair of boots. You forget they are on, they are so lite weight and they feel like the most comfortable pair of house shoes you have ever worn!

I have the 800g HAW Under Armour boots. I recently went hunting in Missouri in 7 degree weather with -10 degree windchill. I wore my really thick ice socks. My feet were really warm!

So I've decided to go with the aero heads. I think I'm gonna go with 7mm vs. the 3.5mm since I hunt more in the cold than the heat. Any boot that "the heckler" endorses is good enough for me!
