i just started wearing rubber boots a couple years ago. wish i would have done it a long time ago. started off with a pair of irish setters because i got a good deal on them ( wont waiste my money on them anymore, lasted a season and half). i picked up a pair of 1200g Lacross last year right before the cold set in glad i did with the winter we had. im getting me a pair of non insulated lacross boots in the next couple weeks for early season.

i use to wear Rocky brand boots before i switched. i always thought rubber boots looked like clod hoppers. being big and bulky, tripping over them while you walk type thing, i also was one of those guys that always said rubber boots belong on the farm lol. will i tried out a pair. buy a good pair and they will fit like a shoe. i highly recommend the Lacrosse Alphaburys

Check out the BOGS Eagle Cap boots. Im pumped about the ones I just bought. They are full rubber, but shorter with laces. And damned near as comfortable as a pair of sneakers

I just bought a pair of the Lacrosse Aeroheads this year. Hoping the Poly material instead of rubber keeps my feat warmer. Loved my Muck boots, but the heals were starting to wear and give me blisters, they never quite fit tight, and the rubber soaked up the cold from the stand.

First pair of rubber (Neoprene) boots I owned were Lacrosse aeroheads.....I still own em, and love em!

One pair of quality wool socks to partner up with these boots and, I'm good for the day!

whole lotta rubber boot stroking going on in here, so i throw in my opposite opinion.

hopefully these rubber boots have progressed with the support and protection they offer ?

years back i wore rubber boots rabbit hunting, it felt weird, like Cody Lundin walking around barefooted.
ended up breaking a bone in my foot traversing some rocks, that i know would not have happened in my lace up, vibram soled rocky's.
had to unload my gun and use it as a crutch to get out of the woods and to my truck.
i threw them in the garbage and have never even considered wearing rubber again.

my current rocky bear claws have never been anywhere but to/fro my deer stand, are on their 5th season with no signs of giving up, my feet have never been wet or cold, nor has any deer ever scented my trail.

sorry, but i see no need for, or advantage of rubber ?

A couple years ago I bought a pair of the Under Armour rubber boots with the lower top just for early season hot weather hunting. They are probably the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever owned for all day use. Probably as close to tennis shoe comfort as you can get.
